Dan Whitesides is the drummer for the American band The Used and a long time Zildjian artist!
Given I'm a huge fan , I was beyond stoked to have the opportunity to speak to Dan. We had an incredibly natural conversation about his drumming, being in The Used, his song writing process, his approach to writing drum parts, his unique drum kit set up, working with John Feldmann and what it's like to be in one of the most iconic bands of the last 20 years. They literally created the genre Screamo - mental!
We both agreed that The Used changed music in the early to mid 2000's and are one of the most influential bands in modern times. It was seriously awesome to chat to Dan and I will 100% be hitting him up when he is in Australia in early 2023! Yep he lets us know that the band are making their way to Aus in early 2023 and also that they have a new record already recorded! Huge!
